This decision has raised a wave of hope for professional footballers who intend to develop their talents thanks to the know-how he acquired during his brilliant career.
Augustine Okocha, commonly known as Jay Jay OKOCHA, former captain of the Eagles, is now embracing a political career, by accepting to lead Nigeria’s Ministry of Sport in order to inspire young people. At the age of 46, the man can claim to have the necessary experience to take his country’s football to the next level.
After winning the 1996 Olympic Football Tournament, Jay Jay OKOCHA also won two African Cup of Nations titles with the Nigerian national team, in 1994 and 2000. He was also designated the best player at the African Cup of Nations in 2004, held in Tunisia.
