The Head of State traveled to London this Wednesday 3 May 2023, where he will take part in the coronation ceremony of His Majesty King Charles III, to be held on 6 May. This is a very unusual religious and traditional ‘royal pageantry’ in the United Kingdom.
The Commonwealth family, to which Gabon became a member on 25 June 2022, is invited to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. It is in that context that the Gabonese Head of State is going to England today, to show his support to the successor of Queen Elizabeth II.

The event will be attended by millions of people across the UK and around the world, 70 years after the last coronation.
