The realization of the project dedicated to the improvement of the production and processing of cassava and other products in the CEMAC zone requires the adoption of “six measures, structured around 29 actions, including 32 criteria for implementation”, said the members of the Technical Secretariat of the CEMAC Economic and Financial Reform Program, last September in Douala. These include “subsidizing the acquisition of equipment and production resources, as well as the creation and support of local manufacturing units.
For Gabon, providing transport facilities to cassava production regions for better access to markets, improving supply chains and the building of selling points for the above-mentioned product are the solutions being proposed for large-scale commercialization.
Created in 2016 by the Heads of State of CEMAC member countries, after examining the economic and financial situation in Central Africa, the CEMAC Economic and Financial Reform Program aims to “provide and implement rapid, strong and coordinated actions, both at the national and sub-regional levels, for the stabilization of the macroeconomic framework and a structural and significant transformation of the sub-region’s economies, in order to strengthen their resilience and enable them to emergence”.
