The creation and management of television platforms in the digital world, the promotion of the development of digital television in African countries and the strengthening of cooperation with China were the points developed in two weeks, between the attendants and the panelists, during the Seminar for young talents of radio and television of African countries.
Online media have evident advantages in competition and can easily attract audiences over traditional media, say the Chinese experts. The general psychology of audiences is to look for new and different contents, which makes young people, who are always looking for news, devote more time and attention to online media, accessible through digital tools such as computers and cell phones.
Moreover, companies nowadays prefer to use these means of communication for their advertising. Even if it is true that the traditional radio and television remain the most important source of the broadcasting of information. They are faster, more efficient and direct. This is why the Chinese model advocates an adaptation of conventional television and radio to the digital world. In this way, it is necessary, for example, to digitalize content and broadcasting through the investment-construction-operation mode.
This seminar has therefore enabled Africans to know the history and current situation of China, including its audiovisual development, the Platform of integrated video services for the future, the operation and development of Chinese radio enterprises and the African Model that is important for a conversion to digital television. “This training allowed us to understand that China wants to share its experience with African countries to help them in their development,” said FOUTY-BOULANGA MOULEKA, English-speaking journalist at Gabon 24.
The Academy for International Trade Officials has been organizing these free training seminars since 1998 with the aim of sharing China’s knowledge with developing countries.
