As every year since more than a decade, JFD (Journée de la Femme Digitale) has announced on November 9, 2022, the call for applications for the Les Margaret Awards 2023. All women from Europe and Africa with innovative projects in the digital field are invited to participate.
Placed under the high patronage of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel MACRON, the applications for this edition of the Margarets Awards will be open from November 9, 2022, to January 9, 2023. The award ceremony will take place on 17 April 2023 in Paris.
The Margaret Awards, now open to all women entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs from a European or African country “whose projects and innovation meet the major challenges of our society”, says the JFD.
After her success at the previous edition, the winner of the Margaret Awards 2022, in the category of African entrepreneur and co-founder of CA PAY, Ariane AKERET from Gabon, sent a message to women, encouraging them to apply. “The Margaret Awards is a great experience. Thanks to this competition, I have benefited from media exposure and gain in credibility with my partners, given its prestigious status. Thus, to win this prize is to belong to a network and forever be a Margaret. It’s important to participate, because it’s all about us women”, she underlined to Gabon 24.
For this edition, there are three (3) categories, which are :
— Entrepreneur : for female founders or co-founders of tech start-ups;
— Intrapreneur: for women working for largest companies who have developed an innovative project in agreement with their employer while remaining employed;
— Junior : for girls aged between 7 and 18 who have an idea, a concept, a start-up project that responds to a problem through the application of a technology or those who have developed a prototype (robot, game, app…) using one or several technologies.
Competing for the Margaret Awards in the Entrepreneur and Intrapreneur categories is an opportunity to benefit from the JFD Acceleration Programme, which includes “media exposure worth 1 million euros, mentoring and coaching sessions, digital equipment, public speaking opportunities in Europe and Africa, a one-year membership to the JFD network and funding”.
With a community of over 50,000 women leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and advisors around the world, the JFD has become, in 10 years, a true awareness accelerator for women. It “supports the growth and international influence of startups and initiatives led by European and African women”.
