Janet YELLEN started her tour in Senegal, where she met with Macky SALL, President of the Senegalese Republic and of the African Union. She will then travel to Zambia and South Africa. The US government representative intends to present strategies to Africa that will help strengthen economic cooperation between the two continents, in a period during which China seems to have taken the lead. It is in this context that the American government granted 494 billion to Africa to develop the digital sector during the USA-Africa Summit held in December 2022 in Washington.
The American minister will use this opportunity to present the efforts made by the White House to improve access to renewable energy in Africa.
