With the aim of showing their compassion and support to the families of the victims of the landslide that occurred at Pk 8 a few days ago, the Head of State, Ali BONGO ONDIMBA, the First Lady, Sylvia BONGO ONDIMBA as well as a delegation of several ministers went to meet the populations of the said district. Regarding the alarming situation of the housings, the Gabonese Head of State has decided to implement some measures in order to prevent such terrible tragedies.

The President has therefore instructed the government members to find ad hoc solutions to solve these problems. “Everything must be done to prevent such a tragedy, which is not the result of fatality, to happen again in Gabon. I have sent clear and strong directives to the Government,” he said.
Support measures have been put in place to help bereaved compatriots and to relocate “people potentially in danger” as soon as possible.
