After the positive exchanges between the President of the Republic, His Excellency Ali BONGO ONDIMBA and his counterpart, Emir BIN ZAYED AL NAHYANE, on October 24, 2022, in Abu Dhabi, Gabon and the United Arab Emirates signed an agreement on the exemption of the visa for the citizens of both countries. In the educational field, five (5) scholarships were also offered to the Gabonese government, in the context of the strengthening of cooperation.

To help African countries to improve their media landscape was the main theme of the Seminar for Young Media Talents from African Countries organized by the Academy for International Trade Officials of China Ministry of Commerce. It took place from October 12 to 25, 2002, by videoconference and seventeen (17) employees of the 24-hour bilingual news channel, Gabon 24 participated in this training, as part of the sponsorship of skills.

Economic diversification remains a major concern for Central African countries. This is why, a financing plan for the community strategy worth CFAF 642 billion to develop cassava production and processing in the subregion was elaborated, at the end of the meeting of the Technical Secretariat of the Economic and Financial Reform Program of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central African States (PREF-CEMAC), held on September 18, 2022, in Cameroon.

Placed under the theme “healthy life”, the ninth edition of the Pink Month (October) campaign has mainly dedicated its activities to sports sessions and a good diet in order to reduce the risk of developing cancer. In Gabon, the Fondation Sylvia BONGO ONDIMBA (FSBO), which has been fighting this disease since 2013, has made the screening free of charge in all public health facilities in the country.

To show the world the beauty of Gabon’s biodiversity is the objective of Amazing Gabon, which is organizing a photographic exhibition from October 17 to 21 in New York, at the United Nations headquarters. The project was made possible thanks to partnerships with the Permanent Mission of Gabon to the United Nations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Water and Forests, the Sea, the Environment, in charge of the Climate Plan and the financial support of the Special Council of the President of the Republic, Permanent Secretary of the National Climate Council.

Gabon is now allowed to sell its carbon credits. In its recently released report on the technical analysis of the country’s environmental activities, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) certified the 187 million carbon credits sequestered by Gabon over the 2010–2018 period. The data provided by the Gabonese government were considered compliant and transparent with the established directives.
